Harvey Kuenn had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Don Newcombe allowed Gordy Renaud to
rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Washington Nationals
outscored the Cincinnati Reds 10 to 4.

Kuenn enjoyed a big evening at the plate.  He slapped a one-base hit in the
1st inning, clubbed a three-run home run in the 5th inning, singled in the
6th inning and doubled in the 7th inning.  Washington banged out 13 hits on
the night.  

Newcombe(9-7) was the winner allowing 4 runs for the game. Joe Nuxhall(7-8)
was the loser.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits and 5 walks in 6
innings.
