In a close game the Brooklyn Dodgers were certainly pleased to stop the
bleeding as their 6 game losing streak was finally halted and got by the New
York-AL Yankees by the score of 6 to 4.

Brooklyn scored 2 runs in the 3rd inning. The big moment was provided by Bill
Tuttle who made the crowd happy when he popped a two-run clout over the
fence. Brooklyn had 9 hits for the night.

Dean Stone(2-3) allowed 2 runs in 5 innings, and picked up the victory. Clem
Labine got the save, his 1st. Jim Wilson(5-9) was charged with the loss. He
allowed 9 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings.

'I struggled a bit out there tonight,' Stone said, 'but I toughed it out and
we got the win.'
