Bob Barr allowed Ormond Butler to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and first baseman Ed Swartwood had 4 hits and 3 RBI at Sportsman's Park where
the Pittsburgh Alleghenys beat the St. Louis Browns 10 to 6.

Pittsburgh scored the winning runs in the top of the 8th inning plating 3 runs
using 3 hits.  Joe Battin opened up the inning nicely when he reached on an
error.  After an out was recorded, Barr stepped up to the plate and he
reached on an error.  Swartwood then stroked a base-hit, and an error was
also committed, scoring two teammates.  Billy Taylor came up and he delivered
a single scoring the final run of the inning.  The Pittsburgh offense smacked
the St. Louis pitching staff around, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.

Barr(3-2) lasted until the end allowing 6 runs for the win. Tony Mullane(11-9)
suffered the loss.  Pittsburgh scored big getting 10 runs off him in 9
innings.  

Wth the win Pittsburgh now has a record of 22-21.  With the loss, St. Louis
has a record of 5-5 lately, 26-18 overall.
