WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Roger Bresnahan blocked the plate, saving a run!

Honus Wagner hit 2 doubles and had 4 RBI as the New York-NL Giants outscored
the Washington Nationals 8 to 5.

Nap Rucker(7-7) got the win but did not look spectacular. He gave up 5 runs,
17 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings. Washington made it exciting in the 9th,
but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Cecil Ferguson recorded his 1st save. Eddie Cicotte(12-5) was hit with the
loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits and 2 walks in
4 innings.

'We didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Gordon Renaud said. 'We did
what we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What can you say?'
