Christy Mathewson had an impressive outing as the phenomenal New York Giants
bested the Boston Doves 2 to 0 at South End Grounds.
New York scored 2 runs in the decisive top of the 6th inning when they came up
with 3 base hits. The critical plate appearance was by Al Bridwell who
silenced the crowd when he doubled plating two runs. New York had only 6
hits for the game.
For Mathewson(13-3) it was his 4th shutout this year. Buster Brown(5-4)
suffered the loss. He surrendered 2 runs and 5 hits in 8 innings.
