In a good matchup it was the Boston-NL Braves 6, the league door-mat Detroit
Tigers 3 at Bennett Park.

Detroit was unable to recover after Boston-NL went ahead in the 7th inning
scoring 2 runners on 2 hits.  The highlight belonged to George McBride who
disappointed the partisan crowd when he slapped a single scoring two
baserunners.  Boston-NL finished with 12 hits while Detroit ended up with 5.

The victory went to Jim Scott(9-5) who went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs. The
loss was charged to Bob Groom(4-12).  He allowed 11 hits and 8 walks in 8
innings.
