Danny Murtaugh had 5 hits and 5 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds bested the New York
Yankees 10 to 7 at Crosley Field.

Murtaugh made sure the Cincinnati fans enjoyed themselves.  He tripled
knocking in a run in the 1st inning, ripped a single in the 3rd inning,
delivered a one-base hit which plated a run in the 5th inning, lined a single
which scored a run in the 7th inning and tripled bringing in two baserunners
in the 8th inning.  For the game Cincinnati out-hit New York 17 to 6.

Satchel Paige(3-3) went 1 inning allowing 1 run for the win. Preacher Roe
preserved the game for Paige, recording his his 16th save.  Vern
Bickford(4-3) was given the loss in relief.  

The winning ways continue for Cincinnati.  They now have a record of 8-2 in
recent days.  With the loss, the New York ballclub's record is 50-41.
