In an embarrassing outing for the Boston-AL Red Sox pitching staff, New
York-AL Yankees flexed their collective muscle amassing 14 runs as Karl
Drews(8-3), with relief help from Gerry Staley, surrendered 3 runs to
Boston-AL.
New York-AL jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they tallied
6 runs on 7 hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. Boston-AL was
out-hit by New York-AL, 13 hits to 10.
Johnny Klippstein(3-8) ended up with the loss. He got hit pretty hard,
allowing 8 hits and 3 walks in 2 innings.
