Larry Doby recorded 4 RBI with one swing when he ripped a grand slam as the
Cincinnati Reds outscored the Washington Nationals in 10 innings 12 to
7.

Both teams had scored 7 runs after nine full innings.  Cincinnati came out the
victor in the 10th inning.  The critical plate appearance was by Doby who
quieted the crowd when he launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand
Slam homerun.  Cincinnati out-hit Washington for the game, 14 hits to 11.

Ernie Johnson(2-0) got the win allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Joe Nuxhall(4-12)
was hit with the loss in relief.  He was knocked around, surrendering 6 runs
in 2 and 1/3 innings.
