Al Bridwell had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Louis Drucke came through with a solid 9
innings as the New York Giants defeated the Boston Doves by the score of 7 to
1 at South End Grounds.
New York took the lead for keeps in the 3rd inning plating one baserunner on 2
base hits. That was all the runs Drucke(8-0) needed. New York managed 15
hits in their victory.
Cliff Curtis(5-11) was given the loss. He was unable to control the New York
offense and allowed 11 hits and 3 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
'Drucke took our guys to school' Boston's manager said. 'Too bad he doesn't
pitch for us - it would make my job a whole lot easier!'
