Dick Hoblitzell hit for the cycle and scored 4 times and Eddie Plank allowed
Lee Palmer to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at American League
Park where the Chicago-NL Cubs beat the Washington Nationals 6 to
3.

Hoblitzell led the offense for Chicago-NL.  He tripled in the 3rd inning,
slapped a base-hit in the 4th inning, doubled in the 6th inning and smashed a
solo-shot out of the park in the 9th inning.  Chicago-NL banged out 15 hits
on the afternoon.  

Plank(6-7) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. Smoky Joe
Wood(8-7) took the loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 15
hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.
