The Cincinnati Reds were able to stop their 6 game losing streak and edged the
Brooklyn Superbas in 10 innings at Redland Field by the score of 5 to 4.

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings.  Cincinnati ended up
winning it in the 10th inning.  Johnny Bates delivered a base-hit.  Two outs
later Mike Mitchell came up and he drew a walk.  Mitchell took his lead and
swiped second.  Tex McDonald stepped in and he stroked a single making
Cincinnati victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.  Cincinnati
finished with 11 hits while Brooklyn ended up with 7.  

The winning pitcher was Bert Humphries(5-4) who allowed no runs in 3 and 2/3
innings. Cy Barger(3-8) ended up with the loss.  He pitched 9 and 2/3 innings
giving up 11 hits and 2 walks.
