WEB GEMS- Top 9th: Tommy Henrich robbed Al Zarilla of a Homerun!

The Cleveland Indians were certainly pleased to stop the bleeding as their 5
game losing streak was finally halted and edged the Boston Red Sox at
Cleveland Stadium by the score of 2 to 1.

The deciding run was scored by Cleveland in the bottom of the 8th. Eddie
Stanky slapped a one-base hit. Russ Meyer came next and he laid down a
sacrifice bunt. After another out, Elmer Valo then delivered a single
scoring the run. Overall Cleveland out-hit Boston 7 to 4.

Meyer(5-7) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 1/3 innings and allowing
no runs. Andy Hansen(2-4) was the loser in relief. He allowed 2 hits and no
walks in 1 inning.
