Buttons Briggs tossed a complete game and right fielder Jimmy Ryan had 4 hits
and scored 3 times as the Chicago Colts came back to win one over Baltimore
Orioles, 8 to 7.

Chicago had the winning rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs utilizing 3
base hits.  Walter Thornton opened up the inning nicely when he slapped a
single.  Bill Everitt stepped up next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.
Bill Dahlen then delivered a base-hit, and an error was also committed,
driving in a run.  After another out, Dad Clarkson then unleashed a wild
pitch.  Cap Anson came up to bat and was walked intentionally.  Anson took
his lead and swiped second.  Ryan came next and he banged out a single making
Chicago victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.  The game was a
wild affair with the lead changing hands 7 times.  

Briggs(8-3) finished the game allowing 7 runs in the victory. Clarkson(4-4)
was tagged with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 3 hits and 1 walk in 2/3
of an inning.
