Baltimore came through with the game-winning runs in the 8th inning when they
tallied 5 runs on 4 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Ducky
Holmes who made the crowd come alive when he doubled bringing home two
baserunners. Washington had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came
up short.

Bill Hill(5-6) went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 8 runs for the victory. Kit
McKenna preserved the game for Hill, recording his his 1st save. Gus
Weyhing(7-11) was given the loss. He was touched for 12 hits and 4 walks in
8 innings.

'We didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Arthur Irwin said. 'We did
what we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What can you say?'
