Buttons Briggs came through with a solid 13 innings as the Chicago Cubs topped
the Brooklyn Superbas in 15 innings by a score of 1 to 0 at West Side
Park.

No runners had crossed home plate after the regulation nine.  Chicago came out
the victor in the 15th inning.  After an out was recorded, Joe Tinker laced a
base-hit.  Otto Williams followed and he singled.  Dutch Rudolph then would
hit into a force play making Chicago the victors to the delight of the home
town faithful.  Brooklyn was out-hit by Chicago, 10 hits to 6.  

Frank Corridon(6-3) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings. Jack
Cronin(8-10) took the loss.  He pitched 14 and 2/3 innings giving up 10 hits
and 5 walks.
