WEB GEMS- Top 1st: Frank Chance robbed Wildfire Schulte of a base hit.

The Philadelphia-AL Athletics pitching coach might be looking for a new job
soon. His team allowed 13 runs while Andy Coakley(8-4), with relief help
from Otto Hess, allowed Philadelphia-AL 4 runs in a laugher.

Detroit promptly took the lead in their half of the first when they blasted
Philadelphia-AL for 8 runs on 9 hits. That early run support was all that
Coakley required. Detroit provided plenty of action in the 1st inning when
they had 8 runs on 9 hits. Detroit had 20 hits for the game and
Philadelphia-AL had 10.

Frank Corridon(7-5) was hit with the loss.
