Left fielder Ed Hahn had 5 hits and 3 RBI at Columbia Park where the Boston-AL
Americans beat the Philadelphia-AL Athletics 6 to 5.
Hahn provided much of the offense. He delivered a single in the 1st inning,
doubled in the 4th inning, laced a base-hit which plated a run in the 5th
inning, tripled scoring two baserunners in the 7th inning and doubled in the
9th inning. Philadelphia-AL made it exciting in the 9th, but they were
unable to push the needed runs across.
Wild Bill Donovan(7-5) allowed 4 runs in 6 innings, and picked up the victory.
Donovan got help from Buster Brown who was credited with his 1st save. The
loss was charged to Johnny Lush(3-3) in relief. He gave up 3 runs and 6 hits
in 3 innings.
Wth the win Boston-AL now has a record of 42-49. With the loss
Philadelphia-AL now has a record of 37-62, worst in the division.
