Vive Lindaman completed the game without help from the bullpen and Al Bridwell
had 2 base hits as the Boston Doves topped the Cincinnati Reds by a score of
8 to 1 at South End Grounds.

Lindaman(7-6) gave Boston a solid outing.  He gave up just 6 hits and 3 walks
in 9 innings improving his ERA from 3.83 to 3.63.  Boston had 16 hits for the
afternoon.  

The losing pitcher was Andy Coakley(4-9).  He was hit hard and gave up 16 hits
and 7 walks in 8 innings.  'It's been a rough ride lately, but this was a
good win for us' said Fred Tenney, 'Maybe this will put us back on track.'
