The Pittsburgh Pirates nipped the New York-NL Giants in 10 innings 2 to 1 at
Forbes Field in a hard fought contest.
The score was tied at 1 after nine. Pittsburgh won it in the 10th inning.
After two were out Tex McDonald slapped a one-base hit. Joe Birmingham
followed next and he ripped a base-knock, and an error was also committed,
making Pittsburgh the victors to the delight of the home town faithful. The
game was a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.
The win was credited to Jim Scott(4-4) who went 2 innings allowing no runs.
Elmer Brown(0-1) ended up with the loss in relief.
