In a game for the baseball purist, Claude Hendrix(8-6) and Joe Boehling(6-6)

victorious over Philadelphia-AL Athletics, 3 to 1.

In the 3rd inning St. Louis-AL scored 2 runs. That early run support was all
that Hendrix required. St. Louis-AL and Philadelphia-AL each finished the
afternoon with 7 hits.

Hendrix was helped out by Ed Reulbach who recorded his 23rd save.
