Mike Simon had 2 base hits and Howie Camnitz tossed a complete game as the
Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 7 to 3 at Baker
Bowl.

Pittsburgh scored 5 runs in the decisive top of the 7th inning when they had 3
base hits.  The big moment was provided by Fred Kommers who silenced Baker
Bowl as he doubled which was good for two runs.  Pittsburgh finished with 11
hits in the victory.  

Camnitz(6-7) lasted until the end allowing 3 runs for the win. The losing
pitcher was Erskine Mayer(3-7).  He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 6 hits
and 3 walks.

Pittsburgh now has a record of 41-32.  With this loss, Philadelphia has a 6-4
record of late, 31-37 overall.
