WEB GEMS- Top 7th: Hap Myers robbed Dan Griner of a base hit.

Charley O'Leary collected 2 extra-base hits and had 2 RBI as the St. Louis
Cardinals topped the Boston Braves by a score of 8 to 6 at South End
Grounds.

St. Louis brought 4 runs across the plate in the top of the 2nd inning with
the help of 3 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Lee Magee who quieted
the crowd when he slapped a single plating two runs. Even though they scored
in 5 different innings, Boston was not able to pull off the win.

Dan Griner(5-12) picked up the victory, allowing 6 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings.
Rube Geyer was credited with his 2nd save. Lefty Tyler(6-10) was given the
loss. He was unable to control the St. Louis offense and allowed 17 hits and
3 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.

'I struggled a bit out there today,' Griner said, 'but I toughed it out and we
got the win.'
