Pud Galvin had a complete game at Riverside Park as the Buffalo Bisons won in
dramatic fashion coming back to beat the Providence Grays by the count of 4
to 3.

Buffalo scored the winning runs in the 9th inning plating 2 runs utilizing 4
base hits.  Dan Brouthers led off and started the rally when he stroked a
one-base hit.  Jim O'Rourke then called for a steal which was successful.
After an out was recorded, Deacon White then laced a base-hit resulting in a
run.  Buffalo continued their aggressive style with another stolen base.
John Peters came to the plate and drew a walk.  Jack Rowe kept the inning
going and singled to load the bases.  Galvin followed, but he was set down on
strikes.  Davy Force then delivered a single giving Buffalo the victory and
sending the 55 home-town fans home happy.  Buffalo totaled 8 hits on the
afternoon.  

Galvin(14-10) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. Bobby
Mathews(4-10) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning
allowing 4 hits and 1 walk.
