Paul Hines hit 3 doubles and Kid Nichols allowed Frank Selee to rest his
bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Boston Beaneaters beat the hopeless
Pittsburg Alleghenys by a score of 6 to 3.

Boston tallied 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning when they came up with 5
base hits.  That scoring would be all that was needed.  Boston managed 10
hits in their victory.  

Nichols(16-7) allowed 3 runs on the game. Kirtley Baker(4-11) was hit with the
