Tim Keefe had a complete game as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the
Cleveland Spiders 6 to 2 at League Park.

Cleveland was unable to recover after Philadelphia went ahead in the top of
the 4th inning scoring 3 runners on 2 hits.  The critical plate appearance
was by Keefe who silenced League Park as he laced a single which was good for
two runs.  Philadelphia had a total of 7 hits for the game.  

Keefe(11-7) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. John
Clarkson(8-10) was the loser.  He pitched 9 innings giving up 7 hits and 5
walks.
