Patsy Dougherty had 4 hits and 4 RBI and Bill Dinneen pitched a complete game
as the St. Louis-NL Cardinals defeated the Philadelphia-AL Athletics 9 to 2
at Robison Field.

Dougherty made sure the St. Louis-NL fans enjoyed themselves.  He hit a single
in the 1st inning, tripled which was good for two runs in the 2nd inning,
tripled plating two runs in the 4th inning and laced a one-base hit in the
6th inning.  The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as neither team was
able to score again.  

The win was credited to Dinneen(15-3) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs.
The losing pitcher was Frank Owen(6-5).  He gave up 9 runs in 4 innings of
work.
