Claude Rossman hit 3 doubles and scored 3 times and Ed Summers allowed Hughie
Jennings to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Hilltop Park as the
seemingly unstoppable Detroit Tigers beat the reeling New York Highlanders in
10 innings by the count of 8 to 7.
The score was knotted at 7 after nine innings. Finally, Detroit pulled the
game out in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Rossman doubled.
One out later, Ira Thomas came up and he ripped a base-knock scoring the run.
Detroit totaled 14 hits on the afternoon.
Summers(5-8) got the victory, allowing 7 runs for the game. Al Orth(5-9) ended
