Joe Lake had a strong outing and Clyde Engle had 2 base hits as the New York
Highlanders bested the St. Louis Browns in 12 innings 1 to 0 at Sportsman'S
Park.

Neither team managed to score in the first nine innings.  Finally, New York
pulled the game out in the 12th inning.  Jimmy Austin hit a single.  After an
out was recorded, Kid Elberfeld came up and he slapped a one-base hit.  Engle
then ripped a single scoring the run.  New York had 9 hits overall, while St.
Louis had 6.  

The victory was credited to Jack Warhop(3-5) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. Rube Waddell(9-10) was hit with the loss.  He pitched 12 innings
allowing 9 hits and 6 walks.
