One run was the difference at Washington Park as the Brooklyn Dodgers defeated
the New York-NL Giants in 11 innings 2 to 1.

Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings.  Brooklyn won it in the
11th inning.  Burt Shotton doubled.  After an out was recorded, Vic Saier
came up and he stroked a one-base hit giving Brooklyn the win as 3,382 happy
fans joyfully celebrated.  Although they lost, New York-NL did out-hit
Brooklyn 10 to 5.  

The win went to Doc White(3-2) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. The loss was
charged to Herb Pennock(2-3) in relief.  He allowed 2 hits and no walks in
1/3 of an inning.
