Larry McKeon reeled off a total of 12 strikeouts and first baseman John Kerins
had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at Seventh Street Park where the Indianapolis
Hoosiers beat the Washington Nationals in 10 innings 8 to 7.

Both teams were tied at 7 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally,
Indianapolis prevailed in the 10th inning. Pat Callaghan tripled. After an
out was recorded, Kerins came to bat and reached on an error. Marshall Locke
then singled making Indianapolis victorious to the delight of the the home
town crowd. Indianapolis had a total of 11 hits for the game.

The victory went to McKeon(10-15) who went the distance allowing 7 runs. The
losing pitcher was John Hamill(1-13) in relief. He was a hard-luck loser as
he did not allow an earned run in his 1 and 1/3 innings of work.

McKeon was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my
pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got
into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again
in my next outing.'
