Joe Brown tossed a complete game at Recreation Park where the Baltimore
Orioles beat the Louisville Colonels 7 to 6.

Baltimore wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring 2
runners on 1 hit. The crucial at-bat was provided by Oyster Burns who
silenced Recreation Park as he cracked a two-run shot. Louisville threatened
in the 9th but their rally came up short.

The victory was credited to Brown(1-2) who went the distance, allowing 6 runs.
The losing pitcher was Al Mays(1-5).

'Anytime you lose it hurts,' said Jim Hart 'but it's losing the close ones
that really hurt.'
