Hugh Duffy had 3 base hits and 4 RBI and Jack Stivetts had a complete game as
the Boston Beaneaters smashed the overmatched Chicago Colts, 17 to 7.

Duffy had a big day with his bat.  He delivered a one-base hit in the 1st
inning, laced a base-knock which scored a run in the 2nd inning and doubled
scoring two baserunners in the 9th inning.  Boston bats were very productive
in the 1st inning which saw them score 4 runs on 4 hits, the 3rd inning which
saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits and the 9th inning when they had 4 runs on 5
hits.  Boston finished with 20 hits in the victory.  

Stivetts(9-8) was the winner allowing 7 runs for the game. Willie McGill(5-15)
took the loss.  He was knocked around by Boston, allowing 20 hits and 5 walks
in 9 innings.
