Kid Carsey pitched 9 strong innings as the Philadelphia Phillies destroyed the
Louisville Colonels by a score of 15 to 1 at Eclipse Park.

Jack Clements provided much of the offense.  He lost the ball over the fence
for three runs in the 5th inning, ripped a base-hit in the 7th inning and
tripled in the 8th inning.  Philadelphia provided plenty of action in the 5th
inning when they had 8 runs on 7 hits and the 8th inning which saw them plate
4 runs on 4 hits.  Philadelphia banged out 16 hits on the afternoon.

Carsey(6-8) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. Mike
McDermott(2-6) was the losing pitcher.  He was unable to control the
Philadelphia offense and allowed 8 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
