The Detroit Tigers toppled the New York-NL Giants by a 6 to 2 score at Bennett
Park.

Detroit scored 5 runs in the 4th inning when they had 8 base hits. The crucial
at-bat was provided by Topsy Hartsel who came through for the home fans when
he laced a single plating two runs.  Detroit finished with 9 hits in the
victory.  

Ed Walsh(12-6) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Irv
Young(7-9) was hit with the loss.  He pitched 8 innings giving up 9 hits and
3 walks.
