In a one-sided affair the Philadelphia-AL Athletics batters pounded the
Detroit Tigers pitchers for 15 runs while Cy Young(12-9), with relief help

Detroit was unable to climb back into it after Philadelphia-AL went ahead for
good in the 2nd inning when they scored 4 runs on 5 hits. That was all Young
needed. Philadelphia-AL kept the scorekeepers busy in the 2nd inning which
saw them score 4 runs on 5 hits and the 5th inning when they had 6 runs on 6

Corridon was credited with his 4th save. Jack Pfiester(11-3) was the losing
pitcher. With this win, Philadelphia-AL has a 43-45 record. They have been
6-4 lately. Detroit has a record of 55-33 after the loss.
