Danny Murtaugh had 2 base hits as the smoking-hot Cincinnati Reds bested the
Philadelphia Phillies 2 to 1 at Shibe Park.
Dick Fowler(5-4) pitched okay, well enough for the win. He went 6 innings and
surrended up 8 hits and 3 walks. Philadelphia had a chance in the 9th but
they came up short.
Preacher Roe recorded his 8th save. Dutch McCall(2-2) ended up with the loss.

Cincinnati extended their winning streak to 7 games. Rob Hickok was thrilled
