The Chicago-NL Cubs enjoyed a blow-out, pounding the Boston-AL Red Sox
pitchers for 12 while Whitey Ford(1-3), with relief help from Erv Dusak,
surrendered 3 runs to Boston-AL.
Ford delivered a fine performance for Chicago-NL. He was reached for 4 hits
and 2 walks in 5 innings lowering his ERA to 3.30. Chicago-NL out-hit
Boston-AL for the game, 11 hits to 6.
Ford got relief help from Dusak who gained credit for his 2nd save. Lou
Brissie(6-9) suffered the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving
up 9 hits and 4 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.
