Shortstop Tommy Corcoran had 4 hits and Gus Weyhing tossed a complete game as
the Philadelphia Athletics bested the Cincinnati Kelly's Killers 4 to 3 at
Forepaugh Park.

Weyhing(13-14) pitched a solid game. He went 9 innings and surrended up 11
hits and no walks and served up 2 'big flies'. Cincinnati threatened in the
9th but their rally came up short.

The loss was charged to Frank Dwyer(10-18). King Kelly was subdued when
questioned after the game, 'Sure, this kind of loss takes a while to get
over, but heck, we're all professionals. We've been through this many times
- it's the nature of the game. We'll be fine - as for me - I'll be ready to
go again tomorrow!'
