Con Lucid pitched a complete game and Mike Griffin had 2 base hits as the
Brooklyn Grooms bested the Pittsburg Pirates 5 to 2 at Exposition Park.
In the top of the 3rd inning Brooklyn scored 2 runs with the help of 3 hits.
After two were out Griffin began the Brooklyn spurt when he doubled, and an
error was also committed, knocking in a run. Billy Shindle came next and he
doubled. Candy Lachance then singled, and an error was also committed,
scoring the final run of the inning. Brooklyn had 9 hits for the afternoon.
Lucid(11-4) lasted until the end allowing 2 runs for the win. Pink
Hawley(16-10) absorbed the loss. The Brooklyn ballclub's record now stands
