4,369 fans were treated to a fine game at Baker Bowl as only one run separated
the combatants at game's end.  The Philadelphia-NL Phillies won by the
slimmest of margins, 8 to 7.

Both teams were tied at 7 runs apiece after nine innings.  Philadelphia-NL was
victorious in the 10th inning.  Jiggs Donahue doubled.  Chappie McFarland
then threw a pitch that the catcher muffed.  Lew Drill then drew a walk.
John Anderson followed and he ripped a base-hit making Philadelphia-NL
victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.  Philadelphia-NL had 13
hits for the afternoon while St. Louis-AL had 9.  

The win was credited to Charlie Case(3-3) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Addie Joss(8-8) took the loss in relief.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning and
surrendered 1 hit and no walks.
