In a tight game it was the Washington Nationals 7, the St. Louis-AL Browns 5
at American League Park.

Washington tallied 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. The big moment was
provided by Larry Doyle who came through for the home fans when he lined a
base-hit scoring two baserunners. St. Louis-AL threatened in the 9th but
their rally came up short.

Howie Camnitz(14-2) got the win allowing 5 runs in 8 innings. Camnitz got help
from Jack Coombs who was credited with his 19th save. Lew Richie(4-8) was
the losing pitcher. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9 hits and 3 walks in 6
innings.

'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Tim Singer
said after the game. 'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have
to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
