The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates by a score of 7 to 3 at
Forbes Field.

Cincinnati scored the decisive runs in a big 8th inning scoring 2 runs.  After
an out was recorded, Gus Williams started the attack as he drew a walk.
After another out, Hal Chase came up and he was walked intentionally.  Reb
Russell then reached on an error.  Fred Snodgrass was up next and he smacked
a single bringing in two baserunners.  Cincinnati had 15 hits overall, while
Pittsburgh had 8.  

The victory was credited to Russell(11-2) who went 2 innings, allowing 1 run.
The losing pitcher was Vean Gregg(5-11).  He was touched for 11 hits and 3
walks in 8 innings.
