Fred Hutchinson had a complete game at Wrigley Field where the Boston-AL Red
Sox beat the Chicago-NL Cubs by the score of 9 to 4.

Boston-AL came up with 5 runs in the top of the 6th inning with the help of 3
hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Hutchinson who deflated the mood
of the partisan fans when he laced a single scoring two baserunners.
Boston-AL totaled 14 hits on the afternoon.  

The win was credited to Hutchinson(6-10) who went the whole way allowing 4
runs. The losing pitcher was Vic Raschi(4-10).  He allowed 9 hits and 6 walks
in 5 and 2/3 innings.
