Bill Tuttle slammed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Brooklyn Dodgers defeated

Tuttle was a source of great heartache for the Cincinnati faithful all day.
He just kept pounding out hits! He ripped a base-hit in the 1st inning,
blasted a two-run home run in the 3rd inning, ripped a single in the 4th
inning and belted a three-run homer in the 7th inning. Overall Brooklyn
out-hit Cincinnati 16 to 9.

The victory went to Harvey Haddix(4-3) who went 7 and 2/3 innings, allowing 4
runs. Joe Nuxhall(8-9) took the loss. He was knocked around by Brooklyn,
allowing 11 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings.

Tuttle was in a good mood after the game, 'I'm just seeing and hitting the
ball real well now. I made some adjustments last week and they are paying
off. That's what this game is about. making adjustments as the season goes
along.'
