Patsy Tebeau had 4 hits and 3 RBI and John Clarkson was able to finish what he
started and was credited with a complete game at League Park where the
Cleveland Spiders beat the Boston Beaneaters 8 to 6.

Tebeau provided much of the offense. He tripled scoring a run in the 2nd
inning, tripled which scored a run in the 3rd inning, delivered a single in
the 5th inning and tripled which plated a run in the 7th inning. Boston had
a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

The win was credited to Clarkson(9-7) who went the whole way allowing 6 runs.
Harry Staley(7-11) was the loser. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 14 hits
and 2 walks in 8 innings.

Despite losing Frank Selee was optimistic after the game. 'We'll get over
this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't. Any one
of a dozen little things go different, and we come out on top.'
