Frank Dwyer tossed a complete game and Farmer Vaughn jacked one out of the
ballyard and had 4 RBI at League Park as the Cincinnati Reds won in dramatic
fashion coming back to beat the Boston Beaneaters by the count of 10 to
9.

Cincinnati erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
with 3 runs using 2 hits. Bug Holliday started the inning off right when he
reached on an error. Bid McPhee followed next and he lined a single. Vaughn
then tripled knocking home two runners. Jim Canavan came up and he reached
on an error giving Cincinnati the win and sending the home town fans into a
frenzy. The score went back-and-forth with the lead changing 5 times.

The win was credited to Dwyer(10-10) who went the whole way allowing 9 runs.
Jack Stivetts(9-9) was charged with the loss. He was touched for 12 hits and
3 walks in 8 innings.

'What a win!', Dwyer said. 'These are the kind of games that stand out in
your mind at the end of a season.'
