Ed Delahanty had 4 hits and 5 RBI and Kid Carsey was able to finish what he
started and was credited with a complete game as the Philadelphia Phillies
destroyed the Cleveland Spiders by a score of 22 to 6 at League
Park.

Delahanty was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he
provided much of the offense for the visitors. He ripped a base-hit scoring
a run in the 1st inning, laced a single bringing home two baserunners in the
3rd inning, ripped a one-base hit which brought home a run in the 8th inning
and doubled resulting in a run in the 9th inning. Philadelphia lit up the
scoreboard in the 5th inning which saw them score 5 runs on 5 hits and the
8th inning with 8 runs on 7 hits. The Philadelphia offense man-handled the
Cleveland pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings.

The win went to Carsey(10-6) who allowed 6 runs in the game. The losing
pitcher was John Clarkson(10-8). He was knocked around by Philadelphia,
allowing 21 hits and 5 walks in 9 innings.
