Eppa Rixey came through with a solid 8 innings as the Brooklyn Dodgers
defeated the New York-NL Giants by the score of 4 to 3 at Washington
Park.

The game started off with Brooklyn taking the lead in the first as they scored
2 runs on 2 base hits. New York-NL had a chance to come back in the 9th but
they came up short.

The win was credited to Rixey(10-5) who went 8 innings allowing 2 runs. Doc
White earned the save, his 13th. Jack Powell(6-11) was the losing pitcher.
He gave up 7 hits and no walks in 8 innings.

Despite losing Brian Capsello was optimistic after the game. 'We'll get over
this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't. Any one
of a dozen little things go different, and we come out on top.'
