In a tight game it was the Chicago Cubs 4, the Brooklyn Robins 2 at Ebbets
Field.

Chicago scored 3 runs in the 4th inning.  The key at-bat was by Roger
Bresnahan who quieted the home crowd when he doubled plating all three
baserunners.  Chicago and Brooklyn each finished the afternoon with 8 hits.

George Pierce(7-7) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 8 and 1/3
innings. Jimmy Lavender earned his 5th save.  Sherry Smith(5-4) was given the
loss.
